Strbske Pleso - founded: 1872, altitude [m]: 1350 - It is the highest settlement in the High Tatras, and the character of this area is created by a 19,76 hectare lake which is the second largest on the Slovak side of the High Tatras. Tatranska Kotlina - founded: 1882, altitude [m]: 760 - The Belianska Cave was discovered in 1881. Four medical houses were built to high standard and were later changed to curative sanatoriums for treating unspecified respiration illnesses.
